Luxury Goods Giant LVMH To Take Controlling Stake In Bulgari – Bornrich

lvmh

In October last year, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton bought a 17 percent stake in the family-controlled Hermès International and now, the French luxury goods conglomerate has announced to take a controlling stake in Bulgari SpA in an all-share deal. The big deal, which is being expected to happen today, will put Bulgari under the portfolio of LVMH, which owns more than 60 luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton, Moët et Chandon, TAG Heuer, Christian Dior, Fendi and Céline. The agreement will see the Bulgari family tender its 51 percent share in a share swap that will make it the second-biggest family shareholder in LVMH.

Wave of Innovation: Best of the Detroit Auto Show: Cars: GQ

Porsche 918 RSR
Blending eco-consciousness with unchecked aggression, a la Mike Tyson’s veganism, Porsche’s hybrid 918—green-lit for production and shown at Detroit in race trim with a hard top—will put out 563 V8 horsepower, with an additional 204 hp assist from a pair of electric motors, a brutish combination that will melt your tree-hugging, early-adopting face off.

The Best New Designers in America: Wear It Now: GQ

Patrik Ervell
On the Cast of Treme

Founded: 2006, New York City
Designer: Patrik Ervell, 31
The aesthetic: The new minimalism expert, like a young Raf Simons or Jil Sander. His dual trademarks are club-collar dress shirts (Ryan Gosling swears by ’em) and ultrasleek anoraks.
Early days: “I grew up partly in Sweden and partly in Northern California. There’s a simplicity about the style of both that’s rubbed off on me.”
Soundtrack: “There’s something heavy and emotional about shoegaze that I love. I’ve never shown a collection without playing a Slowdive song.”
What I wore as a kid: “Being a teen in the ’90s, I hardly ever took off my Levi’s.”
If I wasn’t designing: “I studied international relations, and I actually took the foreign-service exam. I was this close to being sent to a weird embassy somewhere.”

All clothes by Patrick Ervell. From left: 1. Trench coat, $600. Shirt, $220. Pants, $340. Shoes by J.Crew. Watch by Panerai. 2. Suit jacket, $850; pants, $340. Shirt, $230. Tie, $105. Shoes by Lanvin. Watch by Rolex. 3. Hoodie, $460. Shirt, $185. Jeans, $290. Shoes by Dr. Martens.
